Welcome to day 2 of Kraftin Kimmie peeks AND to a brand NEW Deconstructed Sketch!! Today the Krafty girls are inking a fabulous new set by Annie called, LIFE IS A MASQUERADE! I've ALWAYS loved Masquerade Balls, but everytime I see one of these images I think of New Orleans and Mardi Gras (and I TOTALLY LOVE, LOVE, LOVE New Orleans!) so of course I had to go with a purple, green & yellow theme. ANYWAY, this post is a little "picture heavy" but I had so many fun things to show you it really was unavoidable ;) By the way, that clothes pin at the bottom is just to hold the card tightly closed while I took a picture. That center circle panel is actually cut out of the card front and my Queen of the Masquerade Ball is stamped on the inside of my card. I used Stitched Circle Stax to punch the hole out of all layers of the card front then used a little larger Stax for the green frame.
I LOVE the font for this sentiment! I had a little fun with my Sakura Stardust pen, the sentiment banner seemed a little "flat" looking so I splattered a few specks of Stardust on the yellow... gives it JUST enough.
That Fleur de Lis is actually from the Silhouette online store and is the perfect little accent. It's popped up just a bit and I added a bit more Stardust.
This is one of those images that when I was done coloring, I was kind of bummed it was done... I really loved the way her dress turned out in purple, I'm not great with pleats and I didn't even try with this dress and I'm glad because it gave me plenty of space to spash some more Stardust on her dress... perfect! Not even counting the fact that it's Mardi Gras, I think this is one of my fave cards in a while!!! Ok, enough of my blabbering, time for you to hop along the Krafty Trail, here's the Krafty Girls link list and if you scroll down just a beensy bit you'll see this week's Deconstructed Sketch along with links to the DS Girls :) Happy hopping & hope to see you back here tomorrow for another fabulous peek!
