It's PMS Monday Challenge day!

This week's Monday challenge was to find a cake from this website http://www.carriescakes.com/cakes.php and use it as an inspiration.  I chose this cake,  

Ialso used Mercy Kerin's sketch again.  I used a Spica glitter pen on the black parts of her dress and Crystal Effects on the "edible" cheeries, the other cheeries I used Spica's.  I really like the rhinestones on here too (you can get those from PMS too!).  I hope you will play along in this weeks challenge, if you don't have PMS stamps you can still play along.  Don't forget to go to the PMS blog and add your entry to our Mr. Linky.  Thanks for popping in and hope you have a wonderful day!

Serene Snowflakes Swap card

Here is another of my swap cards from the new Holiday Mini.  I am getting better at making my swap cards more "do-able" (a little simpler than my normal 50 layers, etc.), this one was fun to make... lot's of 'random' stamping here and I got to use my Silver Encore pad.... I just LOVE that ink pad!!!  I used  Mercy Kerin's sketch #36 for this card... I love her sketches!!

I have been so crazy with swap cards and work, that I haven't even had a chance to post!   How sad!!  Ok, quick post because my stamp group just left and I am exhausted!  I'll post the recipe tomorrow, but this is one of my swap cards using a Halloween set from the new Stampin' Up! Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge...

I am on a mission to use my PMS images a certain number of times this month, but I also don't want to neglect my Stampin Up images...so here we have a 2 fer!  2 cards fer 1 challenge, lol.  You can go here to see the details for Mercy's Sketch Challenge, this one is a week old but they are on Tuesdays if you ever wanna play along... she does some fun sketches!!  Back to business, here...

 

Here is my first sample for the sketch.  I have such a hard time with that "naked" space at the bottom of the card base, lol!

And here's #2.  The shimmery paper was so fun and pretty, but I had a really hard time using it.  I originally cut this piece for the card on my previous post (the PMS Monday Challenge) and could NOT get it to work on that card.  Well this is one of those cards that looks much prettier in real life, lol.

PMS Monday Challenge... a sketch

Happy Monday!  It's time for the PMS Monday Challenge... this week Mindy gave us an awesome sketch (you can view the sketch on the PMS Blog, don't forget to link your submission to Mr Linky while you're there!).  I almost NEVER make anything without dsp.  Why? Because I am incapable! lol.  When I started this card I started with some very fun shimmery dsp (that's where the colors came from), but as I started adding layers I decided to get rid of the dsp and make my own!  I used Bazzil Bling and then stamped PMS' snail image on it with VersaMark ink.  I don't often use Bazzill cardstock either, but most of the paper on this card is Bazzill.  I don't always like textured cardstock, but sometimes it certainly has it's place.  The little snail is part of the original image, but I stamped him seperately, cut  him out and then popped him up with a dimensional.

Friday Freebie wordart and Blogger's Challenge

Every Friday is Blogger's Challenge AND the Friday Freebie wordart over at Paper Makeup Stamps.  So this week's BC was to use punches or dies... this applies to just about every card I make!  I love punches and dies of all kinds, they make it so much easier to get that something that's a little different!  On this card for instance, there are so many square angles that I wouldn't have wanted the sentiment to be another square or rectangle, and a circle wouldn't have been quite right but this Nestabilities Label Four die is perfect!  Make sure you head over to the PMS store or blog to get this free wordart!  I also used SC242 from SCS.  Tomorrow is the PMS Monday challenge... make sure you peek back, it's a fun one!!

What a last couple of days :(  First of all, New York kidnapped my hubby!  We were so excited for him to come home last night, and some silly storm rolls in and he got stranded... so I spent my afternoon/evening yesterday getting him another flight and a hotel (yes everyone was booked because everyone was stranded) instead of getting my Blogger's Challenge card done and posted :(.  I'll have it up by tonight.  Anyway, enough whining... Herb Expressions meets Nouveau Chic

When I saw the Nouveau Chic dsp in the SU catalog, I didn't think "it was my style".  Then a customer of mine ordered it, and I saw it just sitting on her counter and asked her what paper it was cause WOW!  I really like this paper pack!!!  So yeah, of course I "needed" it, lol!  This is another swap card I made for my Nimbee group (love those gals!!!!)  I hope they like it, I LOVE WOW! cards, but I tried really hard to keep this one kinda basic/easy.  I LOVE the colors and the layout was super fun (I "borrowed" the layout from a previous Mojo Monday sketch... they have the best sketches!!!!!)  Thanks for peeking, hope to see you again soon!  I have 2 more swap cards to share with you then I have 3 more Mini Catalog peek/swap cards to share with you... stay tuned!

Bloggers Challenge #112 - Happy Birthday to you...!

First let me apologize for being late... family stuff has just taken over the last couple of days.    This week's Bloggers' Challenge was a Birthday card, here's mine using Crazy for Cupcakes by Stampin' Up!  See the "shimmer" on the frosting?  I actually paper pieced the frosting with Pink Pirouette cardstock, then painted it using "Frost White" shimmer paint... coming to a Stampin' Up Demo near you starting September 1st!  In the NEW Holiday Mini you will see this shimmer paint in 3 colors (yummy!!).  I used some Crystal Effects and some Red Beads to make the sprinkles on the frosting.  Ok, here are the deets...

Tonight I used Lauren Maeder's My Time Inspiration Challenge and coupled it with the SCS Sketch Challenge for today!  The image is Jaina from Paper Makeup Stamps... I just love her!  I also used a Harlequin embossing plate from Stampin up on the Spring Rain paper (on the right), I didn't have any coordinating paper to go with those stripes and I pretty much had my heart set on those stripes.  Thanks for peeking in...hope to see you back here soon :)

Paper Makeup Stamps is hosting this weeks challenge on the Copic Colour Challenge blog.  Your challenge, should you choose to accept it (and I hope you do cause there are some cool free stamps up for grabs!) is to use these colors... if you don't have these colors, just pick something close and play along!

What fun colors!  Don't these remind you of a peacock?  So pretty!  It seems like everytime I see a Turquoise type color I think of Argus, so I immediately grabbed this little guy!  He's one of my fav monsters!!  I also used Mercy Kerin's Tuesday Sketch for this card.

Here is my card for Release Party Challenge #2, I've got a CASE of PMS! & today's Monday challenge (which is to use Stickers).  I chose to CASE this card by Stephanie Hargis.  I changed the colors and the Focal image.  I just love the WordArt from PMS, created by my awesome friend Shaela!
