A little Retail Therapy!

 

 Happy Monday!  Today some of the PMS team is showing off some more designs using the Retail Therapy set.  One of these days I will actually color that purse, but it is so stinkin' fun to paper piece!  This set is HUGE, there are so many fun  phrases and images!!  This card will be perfect for my Office Manager at work... she is such a purse-junkie.  As I am typing this I am wondering... I start Physical Therapy soon, I wonder if my Insurance would pay for some "Retail Therapy" instead?  I should call and ask, lol!  Well I was going to paper piece all of those little purses you see on the pink panel, but something came up and I ran out of time so I decided to use that image (they are a row of 6 hat boxes & bags) and make my own dsp.  I wanted it kind of subtle so I used VersaMark ink... I really LOVE the look!!  I did paper piece the focal purse, going over the clasp parts with Black Glaze pen.  Instead of all of the rhinestones on the strap that I showed you last week, this time I decided to take my Stardust pen and go over the "links" so it looks like a "chain" type strap.  I also used the Stardust on the scallops of the sentiment panel.  Here is a close up of those details.

Sorry for the late post, DS had his first Lacrosse game yesterday and when we got home I just couldn't resist snuggling with the boys for some reading time.  Before I knew it we'd all crashed!  Anyway, this is for this past week's sketch challenge on SCS.  I've been dieing to ink up the new Flutterbies, and this layout just seemed like a perfect fit. The sentiment is from the Buggy Sayings set.  The sentiment panel is popped up and the butterflies wings are bent up as well for some dimension (clearly I need to re-do this picture!).  Hope you all are having a fabulous weekend!

It's a Mid-month hop!

Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge...

I am on a mission to use my PMS images a certain number of times this month, but I also don't want to neglect my Stampin Up images...so here we have a 2 fer!  2 cards fer 1 challenge, lol.  You can go here to see the details for Mercy's Sketch Challenge, this one is a week old but they are on Tuesdays if you ever wanna play along... she does some fun sketches!!  Back to business, here...

 

Here is my first sample for the sketch.  I have such a hard time with that "naked" space at the bottom of the card base, lol!

And here's #2.  The shimmery paper was so fun and pretty, but I had a really hard time using it.  I originally cut this piece for the card on my previous post (the PMS Monday Challenge) and could NOT get it to work on that card.  Well this is one of those cards that looks much prettier in real life, lol.

Sometimes you see a sketch and the ideas just start flowin'!  That was the case with this last Sketch Challenge on SCS.  That being said, this is NOTHING close to what I had imagined in my head, lol (that card soooo didn't work out).  I colored Little Miss Ashlie here TWICE!!  Can you believe it?  The first time as I started to go over the skin for the second/blending time...I picked up the wrong color :(, then I was 98% done with this one and a bug landed on my hand so I went to swat it, and bumped my marker which marked her hair and her hand... thank goodness for the Blender!!!  Ok, I used the Colorless Blender on the Mr Snail to give his shell a little texture and it ties in with the Pink and Green.

Happy Friday!!!! It's Blogger's Challenge day...

This week I tripled up my Blogger's Challenge card, it is also for my LNS Challenge and Mercy Kerin's sketch challenge over on The Fresh Batch blog.  No special talent combining those, since two of the challenges were to use 'Red, White and Blue'!  This is my first time attempting the LNS challenge (those ladies are so stinkin' talented it's almost intimidating!!) and my first time checking out The Fresh Batch.  I know this paper has retired, and while I always LOVE new stuff, I am sooooo going to miss this paper!  I love the shades of blue & red!!  Don't forget to visit the rest of the Blogger's Challenge gang to check their awesomeness!!

I haven't stamped in a week!! What's up with that??? Well, I've been working on getting my 'room' done (I'm almost there!!). This is for a sketch challenge on SCS, I have LOTS of Paper Makeup Stamps Sneak Peeks starting on Thursday and some Stampin' Up! swap cards coming up and hopefully I'll get some pics of my room posted (I love my new "Copic Storage"). Lots of fun stuff coming up, lots of stamping and lots of posting :) 

 

Clean and simple cards are something that I am NOT good at!  I am really trying to force myself to make a couple here and there, I think I like this one.  The papers here are all from Paper Trey Ink and the image is from Paper Makeup Stamps.  I love Katie's sentiments, just wait until you see the new 'Sentiments' for the July release...OMG!!!!!!  The ribbon is from Stampin' Up! and the pearls are misc.  Thanks so much for stopping by, hope to see you back here soon for some PMS Sneak Peeks & some Stampin' Up! goodies.

I love the challenges on Split Coast but it seems like with all the other things out there I sometimes forget about them. This week I did the Sketch Challenge, loved that sketch.  What a great way to show off some beautiful dsp?!  Did you notice the beautiful watermark?
