Kraftin Kimmie #182: Paper Piecing & JUGs192: A Washi Technique

Today I paired up 2 of my favorite challenges, Kraftin Kimmie & JUGs!  This week's Kraftin Kimmie Challenge is brought to us by one of my fave stampers, Kim O and she's challenging us to Paper Piece!!  I LOVE paper piecing!  Head over to the Kraftin Kimmie blog for more details on her SALE!!!  and to see how you can some free rubber!!!

This weeks JUGs challenge is WASHI!!!  I chose this Flower Dark Blue tape and the coolest thing is that it actually has 3 patterns in it (checkerboard, stripes & floral)!!!  Below is the inside of my card.

    The challenge is to use washi tape and our sponsor is Modes4u.

Just Inklined: "This one's for the Boys" Hop

 

Hello, Happy Monday and welcome to Just Inklined's May hop... This One's for the Boys!  If you are hoping along then you should have come here from Tammy's blog, and if you just happened here then you should head over to the start of the hop, Dawn.  Today I'm using Black and White Sheep and colored it up with some Copics.

There She Goes AGAIN! Lighten Up!

It's time for There She Goes AGAIN week!  This past week the There She Goes blog has been showing off past creations using the Blossom By Blossom, Beautiful Day & Lighten Up sets, well today the DT is showing off some BRAND NEW cards using thos sets!  I used Lighten Up for my card today and some fun coloring the lamp :)

For the lamp shade I colored it in YR21 and just made swipes from the top to the bottom of the shade, over lapping a bit... just gives the shade a bit of dimension, I also added some Sakura Stardust on the swirl, though it's hard to see from here.  For the lamp base I used RV32, RV34 & YR20 and just added some dots of varying size... LOVE the look!  I also took a YR20 over the "bright" word.  The layout for this card is this week's Sketch challenge over on SCS :)  Thanks for popping by, hope to see you again soon!

Just Inklined: Lazy Daisy for a friend

It is high-time for some pretty flowers!!  Thinking I may just have to visit my florist friend and get some for the house :)  This image is called Lazy Daisy from Just Inklined Stamps!  Korin posted an awesome sketch last week on SCS, it's a simple sketch and has sooooo much possibility and I think it was just perfect for these daisies!   The blue/green panel is Prismatics cs, I just LOVE the texture!  These are some papers that I kinda hoard (shhh), but it's nearly time to re-stock!

I've come to really like coloring pale colors.  I used some warm grays on the flowers and blue/greens for the water and silhouetting.  Some Gold Sparkly Fluff was just perfect for adding some texture to the card.  The sentiment is from a There She Goes set, Nutmeg and the "tab" die is from My Favorite Things.

Hello!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE fresh, colorful flowers.  If I could, I'd have them in my house EVERYday!  This image, Lazy Daisy from Just Inklined, reminds me of Gerber Daisies (one of my faves).  And I LOVE them in PINK!  

Can you tell that I am loving the stippling background?  So fun!!

Just Inklined: All that Glitters hop

Well it's the first Monday of the month and that means its time for another Just Inklined hop!  Our wonderful Hostess this month is Karen L and our theme is All that Glitters.  If you are hopping along you should have come from Miss Tammy's blog, and if not you'll want to start at Karen's blog.

I used the Poinsettia Label image and while it is a great shape and perfect size for a label, it works just as well on a card :)  I colored the Poinsettias with some Copics and then went over all of the swirls and the frame with a C1 Copic.  To "glitter" up the swirls I used my Sakura Stardust pen... LOVE that pen!!  For the flower, I used a glue pen and some fine silver glitter just on the tips... Apple Dunking with SC406

Today I am posting my very first post as a member of the Just Inklined DT :D  Here in Sunny Southern California it was chilly and a little rain-y and oh so fluffy cloudy!  I LOVED it!!!  I absolutely love this time of year and this weather makes me giddy :)  For today's card I used Apple Dunking from Just Inklined and some fabulous Fall paper.  My silk ribbon (yes, I have an obsession with silk ribbon) is actually a double bow, but I forgot to fluffl it before photo'ing.  Paper and ribbon are from Ribbon Carousel.

Today is the final day of the MFP hop, didn't I tell ya? The sets are awesome this month!!  Today I have 2 cards to share.  For the first card I grabbed the sentiment from the Island Life set (we showed this off yesterday).  The shell is from the Silly Shells set, I colored it with copics and then cut it out before adding it to the sentiment panel.  I LOVED coloring the shell!!  My sketch is this week's Sketch challenge over on SCS... such a great layout!

If you've already been to the Marks Finest Papers blog then you may have already seen this card.  This card was a little difficult to photograph because of the way I colored it.  Again, my sentiment comes from the Island Life set and the shell from Silly Shells.  I took some white card stock and stamped the shell trio image with some VersaMark ink then colored the shells in with my palest Copic markers... irl, the card looks really soft and the sentiment and the rhinestones at the bottom 'pop'.  If you look closely you can see my scalloped bottom on the kiwi cardstock.

Today we are showing of the NEW Oopsy Daisy set!  I actually have 2 cards to show you today, for the first I made some pretty pink Daisies (again with the green and pink obsession, lol).  I love this simple and happy card, these daisies are just too fun!  I used this week's Mojo sketch :)

For my second card (if you are following this hop from the beginning you may have seen this one on the MFP Blog), I used last weeks fabulous sketch from SCS!  When I think "Daisies" I think of dark blue with white and yellow crayon... so that's what I did!  I have some paper from a million years ago that I LOVE so much I have yet to use it, lol!  So I copied it, kinda.  I took some dark blue cardstock and with my yellow, green and white Crayons I made some daisies and leaves for my background.  Not sure if you can see it, but I added some Clear Glaze on the lady big, and a button with some twine makes for a perfect flower center.  The sentiment for this card is also included in the Oopsy Daisy set!

MFT Guest DT Challenge... Bunny Hop

Wowza, 2 posts in one day!  So I decided to play along with this month's MFT Guest DT Challenge and the theme is "Do the Bunny Hop".  Well I don't really have any Easter stamps (like NONE at all) so I was kind of stumped for a bit, but as I was thinking of my neighbor across the street (having a difficult time right now)... the idea hit me :)  "Hoppy Spring" and flowers!  I used last week's sketch challenge on SCS for my card and then grabbed the Bouncing Bunny cut files from My Time Made Easy to decorate the flower pot.  I had to alter the Bunny a little because of the shape of the pot, but I rather like the way it turned out.  BUT I am in LOVE with the card...

I found this pad of paper (Honey Cake, by MME), hiding in a pile of scraps that needed to be put away and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!!  I finally got to use my Mini Banner die-namics & the alphabet set that came with it...soo fun!  Of course the icing on the cake is the precious Because I Love You Pure Innocence.  I just love the soft look of this card... kinda bummed I'm giving it to my neighbor ;)

First off, I'd like to say Happy Wedding Anniversary to me (since my hubby doesn't read this "girly" blog, lol!).  16 years, I can'tg believe it :)   Well after all of those masculine cards I made this week, just dripping with stinky boy-cooties... I had to get a little "blingy" today.  

Can you see the glitter on the inside of the flower and on the petals?  I added some Sakura Stardust pen to the flower middle and some green Spica Glitter pen to the leaves.  The fabulous sketch is this week's SCS sketch.  Hope along and say "hey" to the rest of the team and check out their fabulous creations, by the end you should be good and inspired for a full weekend of inky-ness!  It's gonna be rainy here and we have no Lacrosse this weekend, so gettin' crafty is exactly what's on my agenda for the WHOOOOOOLE weekend :)

My hubby LOVES lighthouses, we've actually even visited a few, so I knew right away that this card would need to be for him.  I rather struggle with making masculine cards so when I can make them I stash them away and when hubby travels I grab one and hide it in his suitcase... This is definitely "suitcase worthy" :)  I really love this set, it has soooo many possibilities!  One of my favorite touches on this card is the Sage green FlowerSoft trees... so fun!!  I stamped the image with a deep gray ink so I could get the gray stripes, then went over certain pieces with a Copic MultiLiner in black.  I also went over the stamped gray stripes with some Cool Gray Copics so they blended with the rest of the image.  Well hop along and visit the rest of the DT to see what awesomeness they've whipped up with this fabulous set!!

Today the My Time Made Easy team is showing off it's newest template, Pull Up Tabs.  This template comes in both octagon and square.

There is a decorative topper piece, but I chose to use a scalloped circle instead... it fit perfectly!  The octagon is the perfect size for a 3" ish candle or some mini chocolates... yumm!!!  I added some decorative paper, from the Wind My Girlie Gears paper pack.

This is likely the busiest card I've ever made, lol!  I started with last weeks SCS Sketch and used more of the same Wind My Girlie Gears paper.  The birdie is from the BRAND NEW Wind 'em Up! stamp set, and the sentiment is from the Wound Sentiments set, also NEW!  I covered the "screws" on the bird with rhinestones and went over the beak, legs and "key" with black and silver Spica glitter pens... very sparkly
