Makeup 4 the Weekend #17 and a PMS DT Remake...

This card is pulling "double duty" today.  One of the things the PMS DT is doing this month to celebrate PMS's first birthday is we are "remakeing" our first PMS card.   

 

Since I am so far behind from being sick, I chose to keep the same image, papers and color scheme and I changed up the layout (thus the double duty).  My remake uses Miss Gabby's awesome sketch for this week's M4TW17 Challenge.  Here is my original card... the image is Jaina, she was my first Fairy and is still one of my favs. Make sure you pop on over to the PMS Blog and add your creation to Mr. Linky for this great sketch challenge... katie is pulling one random winner for a treat!

 This week's Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge hostess was Danni.  Her orders... Pink and sparkly!  So I dug out my favorite pink & gray paper, Juliette by SEI and this fun Moody for Love image from Paper Makeup Stamps.  The sketch is, of course, from the rockin' Mercy Kerin, MTSC59.  I added some rhinestones to her and made her Diamond necklace.  I also colored some of the hearts with some pink and clear Spica Glitter pens.

Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge #14

 

This weeks challenge is an inspiration challenge, and OH MY GOODNESS if this room isn't inspiring!!!

I would LOVE to just snuggle up in that bed with a nice book and read for hours!  Can't you just hear the ocean breeze outside that bedroom window?  This inspiration was brought to us by Christi Snow, thanks Christi for an awesome challenge!!!  I really LOVE these colors!!  My blue background is textured Prism paper, but still seemed like it needed a little more, so I took the "xoxo" stamp from the Hugs & Kisses Sentiment set and inked it with some VersaMark.  For the wordart (my absolute favorite!) I cut the same size rectanlge out of black and cut it at a diagonal, then used them behind the wordart piece (I just wanted a teeny mat around it).  Make sure you hop on over to the PMS Blog and play along with the challenge!

Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge #10

Happy Friday! This weeks Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge is to use Blue & Silver or Black & Silver. I've been wanting to make one of these Luminaries ever since I saw them and this was the perfect opportunity!

 

While that is a real candle in there, the flameless ones would be ideal.  For the silver on his scarf and hat I first colored them using C3 and then went over them with a Silver Spica Glitter pen.  I used a back Glaze pen for his eyes and buttons and a clear glaze pen on his heart (after first coloring it in).  I stamped the snowflakes with VersaMark and then went over them with the Silver Spica.  I think you can see the shimmer better here.

Paper Makeup Customer Blog Hop & Blogger's Challenge

This card is pulling "triple duty" today... Today's Makeup For the Weekend Challenge is to use Olive, Mustard and Navy, this is also one of the stops on the PMS Customer Blog Hop (a hop Katie has decided to do so everyone can participate, these "customer" hops will be on the 20th of each month), and last but certainly NOT least this is my Blogger's Challenge card (Lisa's challenge for us this week is "Giving Thanks").  The yellow background paper is Prism's Gold Ore Iridescent cs (a shiny, rich, iridescent gold), you can see it a little better here.    Sorry for the lousy pictures, I had a hard time photographing the shimmer paper and the shimmer'd leaves.  Some of the leaves are colored in just Golden Wheat Shimmerz, some are first colored with my YR23 Copic and then gone over with the Golden Wheat Shimmerz, and the rest of the leaves I colored with an Orange Spica Glitter pen.  Hope you are enjoying the Blog Hop, your next stop is Christine Reeves.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Friday!!  This has been such a week!  Two solid days of work events and a household of sick boys!  And yes! they are all boys... when they are sick I don't care how old they are, they are BOYS!  lol.  Back to the fun stuff... PMS Monday Challenge... It's to "die" for!

This week it was my turn to come up with the PMS Monday Challenge, I chose "Dies & Punches".  You can use any dies and/or punches BUT, Nesties cannot count as your die (you can use them, but they won't count as the die).  Well I had my card all planned out in my head, but as my card came together (and I had to make some minor changes) I realized the die I was going to use wouldn't work.  Then I couldn't find one or a punch that WOULD work!  So I ended up punching a 1/2 circle in the side of my focal image and used it as a notch for my ribbon!  This might have been ok, but it is MY challenge, I have to do better than that!!!! (scroll down to see my 2nd attempt!).  This card did serve some other purposes... Have you ever bought one of the "Key Ingredients" packs from Taylored Expressions?  They ROCK!!!  Taylor is awesome at putting those things together, the ingredients used above are all from her June kit.  This also gave me a chance to play with some Prism paper for the first time (Taylor includes them in her kits)!!  Very fun paper!  The sketch for this card is for the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch challenge for this week.

PMS Monday Challenge... a Flap Card

I haven't made one of these cards in such a long time!  It's so fun to revisit old favorites!  The wordart sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps.  Instead of the curved flap, I took one of my Nestie Labels dies and used just one side for the shape of the flap, and then used the nestie die 2 sizes smaller for the sentiment.  The cardstock, ribbon and buttons are Scarlet Jewel from PTI.  I used some Shimmerz to color a couple of the flowers (I can't believe I had NO yellow embellishments of any kind!!) and added some red Basic Gray Rhinestones to the centers.  For the enclosure I threaded my ribbon though the base piece and then through a Jumbo Eyelet from Stampin' Up and tied it, this keeps it closed and looks cute too!  The inside I put a piece of chocolate!

PMS Release Party Challenge #2, Got Makeup?

The second challenge for the night was our Paper Makeup "recipe" challenge.

Foundation was this sketch 

Then add:
powder: use some sparkle (glitter, stickles, crystals, etc.);
eyes: use buttons;
blush: incorporate pink into your card;
lips: use at least three layers

For my "powder" I used shimmery purple-ish pearls, Purple Spica glitter pen on her hat and socks, Lime Green Shimmerz on her socks.  "Eyes" are 2 black buttons.  "Blush" her pretty pink Converse high tops. PMS Monday Challenge... a sketch

Happy Monday!  It's time for the PMS Monday Challenge... this week Mindy gave us an awesome sketch (you can view the sketch on the PMS Blog, don't forget to link your submission to Mr Linky while you're there!).  I almost NEVER make anything without dsp.  Why? Because I am incapable! lol.  When I started this card I started with some very fun shimmery dsp (that's where the colors came from), but as I started adding layers I decided to get rid of the dsp and make my own!  I used Bazzil Bling and then stamped PMS' snail image on it with VersaMark ink.  I don't often use Bazzill cardstock either, but most of the paper on this card is Bazzill.  I don't always like textured cardstock, but sometimes it certainly has it's place.  The little snail is part of the original image, but I stamped him seperately, cut  him out and then popped him up with a dimensional.
