Paper Garden's Fourth Friday Challenge

Paper Garden Holiday Garden Walk

But Doc, that's my coloring finger!  Let me start off by apologizing for my very simple project and Kindergarten coloring.  I took a chunk out of my index finger while doing dishes, while it was nice getting out of dishes, I also can't color, type or do a surprising number of things :(  I took all the wrappings off this evening thinking it should be fine, I was wrong.  I am thinking that if it isn't fine by tomorrow (so I can take all the wrappings off so I could color, etc.) I should get next week off work & house chores, right??  So back to the fun stuff...

I made an ornament gift card holder.  My parents and my Gramma like giftcards for Christmas so I am always looking for fun ways to present them.  These will be fun to hang on the tree until gift giving time.

I started off with one of these clear boxes.  Now remember I had to keep this simple, plus I wanted to make it quick and easy to make multiples.  So I cut 2 7/8" squares of white cardstock and covered all sides (these were my mats).  Then I cut 2 3/4" squares of my brown Prism, and the red patterned paper from Imaginesce Cottage Christmas papers.  This front panel is double matted with white and brown.

I filled the box with red shredded filler stuff (and of course the gift card) and added a ribbon hanger.

Finally, I took the snowman from the Letters To Santa set from Eat Cake Graphics, 'colored' him and added him on a brown panel.  Add some buttons, snowflakes and voila... done!

It will be holiday time before you know it! We thought we'd get you in the spirit with a little Holiday Garden Walk. So go get some hot chocolate, pull up a chair and take a fun little holiday tour.

Paper Garden Halloween Garden walk

Welcome to Paper Garden's Halloween Garden Walk!  This month the Paper Gardeners are focusing on Halloween treat & goodie bags.  Cathy has stocked the store chalk full of all kinds of packaging for you to decorate and give away!  If you did not start this hop from the Paper Garden Blog, you will want to head over there to get the deets on how you can win a super cute stamp set!

For my goodie bag, I used a white bakery bag.  I took the sentiment stamps from my Bippity Boppity Boo set and stamped them sporadically on the bag.  I colored one of the witches from the set with my copics, turned her in to a tag, added some ribbon and filled the bag with M&M's and voila!  I'm going to make a handful of these and when the kids get boo'd this year I'll include some of these bags with goodies in them.  These would make great giveaways for Halloween school parties/trick-or-treating ;).  Have fun hoping along, but before you go my treat for you is...

This little guy is just too cute!  There is a Christmas cartoon about this little mouse family and the son mouse wears glasses just like this and is super smart, except he doesn't believe in Santa.  In the end, her learns the truth and saves Christmas, ;)  This will be a great teacher card (and I have LOTS of teacher friends!)  My last post for today, and if you've been counting there were NOT 33 projects... thankfully we were not only able but encouraged to combine challenges :)

Surf's up, Dude!

 

I LOVED Lisa Kind's sketch over on Just Us Girls last week!  I knew as soon as I saw that I wanted to play, but between track meets, end of the year parties and hubby away on business, this week just got away from me!  Holy Snickerdoodles how did Thursday get here??  Anyway, these cute little penguins came from Paper Garden Projects (the set is from Art Impressions).  Anyway, they are super easy and quick to color.  While I wanted the card kept kinda simple (cause it's for a boy) I felt it needed a little something so I added some twine here and there.  Sorry for the quick post, but thanks for stopping by.  Hope to see you again soon.  Everything on this card can be found at Paper Garden Projects!

Can I interest you in a spot of tea?

 

I love this image by Kraftin Kimmie (you can get Gabrielle and several other Kraftin Kimmie stamps at Paper Garden Projects), I just love the whole Alice in Wonderland look about her!  This week's JUGs challenge was dry embossing.  Well embossing folders are something I don't use nearly enough of, so I wanted to use one for this challenge.  As soon as I saw my 'hearts' ef, I knew this image would be perfect for it!  I also used the sketch from the CCEE Challenge blog, Holy Snickerdoodles, I just realized I forgot the silly button, lol!  Oh well.  I hope this inspires you to get a little inky!  Tomorrow Sneak Peeks start for Paper Makeup Stamps' June release... trust me you are NOT going to want to miss it!!  Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon.

Kraftin' with a Mercy sketch

 

 I have been going through withdrawls cause I haven't done one of Mercy's Tuesday sketches in far too long!  Today I wanted to play with one of my new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps that I got from Paper Garden Projects.  When I looked at this past week's sketch from Mercy, it was perfect for this image...well kinda, I mean I DID have to turn the sketch, oh yeah and blow it up some... close enough, right?  I really like the colors of the patterned paper, but when I colored her dress everything seemed WAY too pastel-y for me (I really struggle with all like cards) so I added some black to her boots and cs for matting... much better!  Hope you all had a wonderful loooong weekend, it still seemed way too short to me :).  Thanks for popping in, hope to see you again soon.  Sneak peeks for PMS' June release start on Friday.

It's the 4th Friday Challenge from Paper Garden...

 

Where did the month go??  I seem to be saying that ALOT these days, lol!  Well, never the less, it's the 4th Friday and that means time for another Paper Garden Challenge!  I just LOVE Cathy's challenges, and this month's is right up my alley!!  Today's challenge is "Feminine and Frilly", and in my book it just doesn't get any more feminine than pearls!  Lots and LOTS of pearls hahaha.  While it is just killing me to not add some ribbon to this, I couldn't bear to cover any of those pearls, lol!  I had a great time coloring Gabrielle (Kraftin Kimmie), I wish you could see the detail!  The heart & diamond on her dress are colored with Red Spica glitter pens, and the spade and club are colored with the Black Spica Glitter pen.  Well that's enough blabbering from me,  make sure you head over to the Paper Garden Blog to get the deets for the challenge (and see the super cute stamp Cathy's giving away).
