There She Goes: ABC Friday

Hello, well it's time for my TSG ABC Friday post .  Remember when we were kids and ABC stood for "Already been chewed"?  Well now that we're all grown up and color all day and play with paste & cardstock, it stands for Anything But a Card!  So today, I made a magnet bookmark!  My in-laws read alot and you know those refrigerator magnets you get from like the Pizza place, etc?  Well they would fold one in half and use it as a book mark!  BRILLIANT!  The bookmark won't fall out of the book because there's a page in between the two magnet pieces.  So I took this idea and made it pretty!  The set is called Dance, by There She Goes and the sentiment is one of my faves or all time!!!!  Of course I LOVE the flowers too :)  The front flap of my bookmark is a transparency so it's hard to photograph.

 Here's the bookmark holding my place.  The sentiment is stamped on white, but I took a few Copics and added some stippling using RV10, YG0000, YR00.  To make the sentiment panel pop a little I "edged" it using E47, just ran the side of the E47 along the edges.  The flower is popped up from the book mark a bit, and I raised the flower so it would stick out of the book.  Doing that also allowed me to use a brad in the center of the flower... it won't get squished or ruin the book.

 This is the bottom panel of the bookmark.  I just added some pretty patterned paper to it, and the black piece is the magnet (it hides behind the sentiment panel).

There She Goes Wednesday Trend: Backgrounds

Hey yall, this week I'm the Trendsetter of the week over at There She Goes and since today is Wednesday I'm posting my Wednesday Trend!  I nearly died laughing when Jessie told me I needed to do some kind of trend/tutorial or something... I mean really???  I am the last one to learn ANYthing!  I racked my brain and then came up with this, not that it's anything new or difficult in any way but it is one of those "oh yea!" things that certainly comes in handy when I don't have exactly what I want/need.  Today we're going to create our own backgrounds with stamps!  This is a great way to get exactly the look you want even if you don't have paper that goes with your theme!  Today I'm going to use Nutmeg, but nearly every set by TSG will work!  For this card I liked the background papers I chose, etc. and I really wanted her outfit to be yellow and green... so I had to figure out a way to incorporate a little more of both but didn't have any paper that would fit the bill.  Darn those 6x6 packs for having too many of the sheets I don't like and not nearly enough of the ones I DO like, lol!

I started off by stamping the adorable skull image with some Gray Flannel Memento ink, black was just too bold, but I wish I'd had a lighter gray.  This ink will NOT bleed with my Copic markers.  I randomly stamped the skull, turning my image in different angles, even upside down. 

I grabbed one of the lightest Green and lightest Yellow markers I had, G0000 & Y000.  I don't want the color too pale, but I don't want it to take away from Nutmeg so these were the perfect shades!   I just layered my coloring until it was the shade I wanted.

When I put all of the layers together, this is how it looks... LOVE it!!  Pale enough so the card isn't to busy but not as plain as solid cardstock :) 

The next method goes all the way back to my beginning stamping days when I was just starting out and didn't have lots of supplies.  Let's break out the VersaMark!

Again, I stamped the skull randomly and in various directions.

And now here's all of the layers put together!  I LOVE the way Nutmeg just POPS on this one :)  Well now you have the "meat and potatoes" for 2 cards... time to add some dessert (ribbons, and hardware and pretties oh my!).

Hey yall!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend :)  I'm the hostess for this week's challenge over on the There She Goes blog, and since I am more than ready for Spring, the Challenge is April Showers, May Flowers!  You may use flowers, water images, water coloring...anything flower or water related, get creative and then get stampy!!  I chose to use What's Up Buttercup.  I absolutely LOVE the flower sets from There She Goes! Since I spent the last few days hanging with the hubby instead of hanging in the stamp room, this card is pulling double-duty!  This week the newest JUGHead, Nancy, is challenging us with this Photo Inspiration...

There She Goes: Chalkboard Memories hop

Jessica and Tobi have been hard at work creating an AMAZING new set for us, Chalkboard Memories. If you are familiar with the VERY popular Chalkboard Technique, this set was created for that particular style!! It is full of SUPER cute images, and FABULOUS sayings…and the chalkboard itself? Fantastic!

Ok, so I KNOW this is called CHALKBOARD Memories, but when I saw this I KNEW I just had to decorate a frame!!!  This is one of my favorite pictures of my brat-kids!  They were horsing around getting ready to take some family pics... LOVE the looks on thier faces <3

I stamped the sentiment and cut out a frame with my Silhouette.  I went over the scroll and "Makes" with Copics and added some dark rhinestones on the frame.  I have LOTS of ideas for this stamp set!!

Isn't Larry just the cutest?? Don't ya just wanna give him a big ol hug?  These sock goblins just make my heart all warm and fuzzy :)  I just adore his necktie.  As soon as I saw him I wanted to color him with these rich boy colors (my fave boy palette ever!).  I think this is my fave male card I've ever made :)

There She Goes: Ginger & Dream in Color hop

Our first set from Megan Suarez this month is the gorgeous new Dream in Color. We love the gorgeous style of this flower, and we think you will, too.

I LOVE this flower!!  Bajillions and bajillions of possibilities with this Dream In Color set!  Perfect for scrapbook pages, frames, etc.  I LOVE the shading on each flower!!  For the sentiment panel I just used a Martha Stewart border punch along the bottom and tucked the top underneath the ribbon.  I LOVE the textured/patterned ribbon!  Add a few rhinestones (ok, 6, lol) and voila!!  All of the flowers are popped up with Sticky Thumbs, with double stickies under the tourquoise flower.

OMG! Are you loving these sets??  I am SOOOO in LOVE with the sentiments and the images are just too cute!  The Pirate is from Shiver Me Timbers and the HI-larious sentiment is from Ship Happens ;)  I couldn't find my black brads so I grabbed some dark blue ones and a black copic...voila, black brads!  

...and of course EVERY pirate needs some chest hair, so I drew some in with a Copic Multi-liner (tell me that isn't your second fave part of the card?? lol).  I also used my Pastel Pencils for shading :)  and the Black Glaze pen for the chest handle

Just Inklined: Dooley's Birthday

Hey yall!  It's time for my weekly Just Inklined post and today I inked up this adorable image, Dooley's Birthday from Just Inklined.  I grabbed an older sketch from Deconstructed Sketches (DS95) which was just perfect!!

I used some Pink Smooch for the frosting on his cake and colored the rest with Copics.  I LOVE the yummy colors :)  Thanks for popping by!

Kraftin Kimmie: Tic-Tac-Toe & JUGs Color Challenges!

This little beauty is pulling a "hat trick" today :)  This is Brigitte, and she's one of my fave Kraftin Kimmie stamps!  I don't know why us women are such suckers for these 'bubbly bathtub images', but the only thing that Miss Brigitte is missing is a glass of wine :)  And I just LOVE her hair!!  Since I've started playing around and experimenting with my coloring, I think I've become obsessed with hair, lol!  This week's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge is a Tic-Tac-Toe (see below)... I chose the middle column, "ribbons, gems & pink".  This is also for my JUGs challenge this week which is a color challenge (see below)... I took some 'creative liberties' with the colors ;).  And last but certainly NOT least, this is a birthday card for my dear stampy friend and fellow JUGHead, Lisa Kind (hope you had a fabulous day!!!)  The layout for this card is another fabulous sketch by Karen at Sweet Sunday Sketch!

Remember yesterday's card when I added the different sized dots to color the lamp base?  Well today I used that same idea around Brigitte and her tub, and again on the sentiment banner... There She Goes AGAIN! Lighten Up!

It's time for There She Goes AGAIN week!  This past week the There She Goes blog has been showing off past creations using the Blossom By Blossom, Beautiful Day & Lighten Up sets, well today the DT is showing off some BRAND NEW cards using thos sets!  I used Lighten Up for my card today and some fun coloring the lamp :)

For the lamp shade I colored it in YR21 and just made swipes from the top to the bottom of the shade, over lapping a bit... just gives the shade a bit of dimension, I also added some Sakura Stardust on the swirl, though it's hard to see from here.  For the lamp base I used RV32, RV34 & YR20 and just added some dots of varying size... LOVE the look!  I also took a YR20 over the "bright" word.  The layout for this card is this week's Sketch challenge over on SCS :)  Thanks for popping by, hope to see you again soon!

Woo hoo! I'm a Krafty Girl!!!

I am excited to announce that I am now a Kraftin Kimmie girl :)  I feel priveleged and honored to be working with such a talented team and with UBER-adorable images!  With that, here's my card for this week's challenge card... Just Inklined: Black Sheep

Just popping in with a quick post.  These adorable White and Black Sheep, from Just Inklined stamps just made me giggle!  I adore the look on the "black" sheeps face!!  Hope you are having a great week, and for this adorable image and TONS more just pop on over to the Just Inklined store!!

There She Goes: ROFL!

Hey yall!  Just popping in really quick to show a card I made tonight.  The set is called ROFL Taglines from There She Goes, and OMG! these are too cute and giggly!  This set is absolutely a "must have" cause it's so perfect for a giggly card for someone :) (I nearly made the PMS card for my daughter! hehehe).  I added some Fire Engine Red glitter to the "outside" of the shoes and colored the inside and heels with Copics (C7, C9, R37).  I've recently discovered some card shape files at the Silhouette Online store (you can scroll down 1 post to see my Fancy Folds card).  The shape was 99 cents and was just the card-base, but I was able to easily create the front panel a smidge smaller for the patterned paper.  The "triple flags" are also from the Silhouette Online store.  So once I cut all of these shapes out (1 mat run through the machine cut all pieces) all I needed to do was color these Sassy shoes and put the card together!  I almost feel a beensy bit guilty cause it was so quick to put together!  Thanks so much for popping by, and if you haven't already you may want to check out this week's Week In Review post on the There She Goes blog where you can see a re-cap of some of the cards the Trendsetters have made the past week and if your comment is chosen you could win the card of your choice!!!

Kraftin Kimmie: Fancy Folds & Alice

Happy Saturday :)  I got this last Krop challenge card done just under the wire, lol!  Karen from Kraftin Kimmie challenged everyone to make a card or project with some Fancy Folds in it, lucky for me I had recently seen some of these in the Silhouette Online store!  Thanks that 99 cent cut file, I had all of the pieces for this card, easy peasy!!  I did add one extra layer of matting (cause that's just how I am, lol).  Alice "falling down the rabbit hole" was just perfect for this card!!  The sentiment is from Wonderland Sentiments!

Lately I've been wanting to "expand" my coloring skills, lucky for me I'm 'stampy friends' and on DT's with some of my fave coloring artists!!  Wendy Ramlakhan, is so incredibly sweet  and has some GREAT tutorials!  I've been playing around with her Coloring Skin and Coloring Hair tutes... clearly my Copics & I need to spend A LOT more time together, lol!  But I LOVED how she did her hair and the skin.  All in all I'm pretty happy with this card.  Thanks Wendy for the awesome inspiration and tutorials, and thanks Karen for a fun challenge :)!!
