Paper Garden Projects 4th Friday Challenge... Fairwell to Winter!

 

Welcome to the Paper Garden Fourth Friday Challenge!  This month's challenge is "Fairwell to Winter".  As I made this card I was listening to the news, and they kept talking about this big, wet storm coming this weekend... how fun to be coloring flowers & butterflies when the real world is getting dumped on with rain & snow.  Cathy is giving away a super fun package to one lucky winner from the challenge, so make sure you go here to get all the details!  The sketch for this card is this week's Sketch from Mercy Kerin.  The super cute image is Rae with a Book by Mo Manning, the pattern paper is Sugar Rush by Basic Gray, all cardstock is Prism, Girly Buttons from Buttons Galore and Sage Green Velvet Ric Rac ribbon.  Hope you will play along... happy stamping!

Teenage Girlie Girl Valentine

 How's this for a Teen Valentine idea?  When my daughter was in middle and high school she always wanted to give a handful of her girlfriends gifts for the various holidays.  There were always too many for us to afford going out and buying an individual gift for so we always came up with some kind of goodie to make.  One year for Christmas we got a bunch of cute mugs and filled it with some hot cocoa powder, marshmallows, etc. then we went out in the wee hours of the night and delivered them to their doorsteps for them to find in the morning.  We had such a great time!  Victoria has always loved getting all girlied-out, make-up done, manicures, etc. and she loved Nail Polish (she still does).  So I made this little carrier to hold 2 bottles of OPI Nail Polish.   

 Here's a sideview and you can see the Polish Bottles peeking out the side.  I love these images from Mo Manning (available at Paper Garden Projects).  Have you seen the GORGEOUS digi images that Cathy at PGP has come up with?  They are too fun!!  Ok, back to this little morsle... I grabbed my Hearts Bloom paper kit (which is ON SALE NOW!) from Paper Garden Projects and took it with me this weekend so I could finish up some Valentine projects.  Now keep in mind that I was horribly sick when I left town and had been getting sicker each day!  I tried hard to grab everything I may need without talking the whole studio... You would not believe the things I forgot, ADHESIVE!!!  SCISSORS!!  Can you imagine?!?!?  It's a good thing that I had this image already stamped because I realized that I also forgot to bring white cardstock (which is only topped by the fact that when I got home I realized that I also forgot the stamps!!!)  Clearly I should NOT be allowed to pack when sick! lol  So my box is held together with glue stick and the image is adhered with scotch tape rolled up, lol.  Hey man, whatever works!  My father-in-law was trying to convince me to use honey, hehehe!  Silly boys!  Tomorrow I'll have another Teen-girlie Valentine idea...  Hope to see you tomorrow!

Fourth (5th) Friday Paper Garden Challenge

 The challenge for January 2010 is... "Pulling on your heart strings"

Our challenge to you is to create a Valentine or love themed project that includes ribbon. And if your projects also includes buttons, you will get a double entry!

You have till midnight (EST) of Friday Feb. 5 to add a comment to this post with link your project. We will draw one random winner for the prize.

The rules are:

• It must be a newly created project for this challenge - but feel free to combine this challenge with any other ones out there.


• We'd love to see all the art you care to share, but each person will only be entered in the random drawing once (well, twice if you have ribbon and buttons).
• The winner will be drawn randomly and announced the following Saturday.

Welcome to the Paper Garden Projects Romantic Garden Walk.

Valentines is such a fun "holiday", cause there are so many things to make someone to show them you love them!  What girl doesn't just LOVE chocolate?!?  This fun little package is filled with Hershey's Kisses and a set of cards.  Check back later this week and see the Teen Girl Valentines I made!!

Supplies for this project are easy peasy, and everything except the Kisses are available at Paper Garden Projects... Hearts Bloom paper kit, Clear Card boxes, Rae w/Journal image by Mo Manning
