I always love playing with the MFT Wednesday Sketches, and I've recently gotten up the nerve to play along with the Guest DT challenges.  Today I've combined both challenges and had a great time creating... just for the fun of it!  The Guest DT Challenge was Touch of Texture.  

For my texture pieces, I added some Sage FlowerSoft on my trees, a grosgrain ribbon sash, a scallopy button and of course my dp is textured :)  I paper pieced her dress (I {heart} paper piecing!).  Thanks to the MFT team for 2 crazy fun challenges!

Gettin' Sketchy with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

I just loving playing with the Wednesday Stamp Club over at MFT, and when I saw this weeks sketch I just couldn't wait to dig out my banner dies!  Last month I was lucky enough to get one of the Girls Rule VIP kits over at My Favorite Things (living in a house dominated by men, GIRLS RULE has become one of my mantra's! lol) so I dug it out too and got to work!  I jsut realized that there is no stamping on this card... how'd that happen??  The papers are from the kit as are the Wood Veneer hearts.  I didn't have any letter stamps that would fit on those banners (yes, the banner die alphabet is now on my wishlist).

MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

I'm finally getting brave enough to try the Guest Designer Contest/Challenge for MFT.  The challenge is a fun one... Blue Jeans and  Bling!  Well I didn't have any old jeans laying around, but I did have some "denim" dsp.. which not only looked great on the card, but was perfect for a paper-pieced dress!!  

There is plenty of shimmer/bling on the flower background paper, but since plenty isn't ever really enough for me :) I just had to add some more, a few glitter brads and the rhinestone in the middle of the button on the flower :).  I also used the sketch from the MFT WSC (love these sketches!!!!).  For my cloud background I cheated a little... I used the Flat Bottom Cloud die-namics from MFT, layed them on my cs and then airbrushed with my B00 and B000 copics.  

I don't often do the insides of cards, but it sure seems like I do frequently with my MFT cards and this time is no different.  These clouds are from a background stamp, and the sentiment comes with the Pure Innocence cutie.

April Showers Calendar page

My dear friend Monique Hansen made the most beautiful calendar page last month (she was inspired by Christine Dol), anyway Monique asked me to play along this month and I was beyond excited.  So here is my first take on makeing my own calendar :).  I love "April Showers", so I used that as my inspiration and away I went!  I also took advantage of the Wednesday Stamp Challenge Sketch from MFT.  I am loving my fabulous calendar!!! MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  I got an extra few minutes this weekend to stamp just for the fun of it, and I chose to play along with the MFT WSC (LOVE that group!!).  This steaming, bowl of comfort-soup and the sentiment are from the Bunny Slippers Who's that Girl set.  Sorry for the quick post, but I have TONS of work to do still before the work week starts, hmpf! A Cupcake kind of day....

The last time my stamp group got together our theme was cupcakes!  Due to a VERY sick puppy and mounds of wedding invites I almost didn't get a card done at all!  Then I thought of this Cupcake set from My Favorite Things (a VERY old set from MFT, lol) and thank goodness for the MFT WSC!!!  I whipped this baby up in about 15 minutes!!  Not including drying time, lol.  I colored the "frosting" yellow and the "cherry" red.  Then I went over the frosting with some Crystal Effects and sprinkled some chunky blue glitter/sprinkles on it.  Finally I added some more Crystal Effects to the cherry (I did this last so that none of the glitter/sprinkles got on the cherry).  I recently got the Mini Rolled Roses die (remember when I won the gift cert from the WSC a few weeks ago?) and used it with some felt... Think Pink with some MFT

I have been seriously missing my "inky play time" lately!  Between being sick and now working on wedding invites I haven't had time to stamp just for the fun of it.  It's high time that ends :)  Last week I got the chance to play with the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club, talk about a fabulous sketch?!!  Every week they choose a winner from all of the entries and I won last week, woo hoo!  Shopping spree!!!!!! This week's the sketch is just as fabulous so I got inky!  If you want to play along head over to the MFT Forum on SCS.  This was the first set I got from MFT, called Think Pink and I added the sentiment, "Get 'em Squished" from the Twisted Too set (LOVE those Twisted sets!!!).  I love the "folded ribbon" look and it was just perfect for the band on the layout.  It's hard to tell in the photo, but the card base and the ribbon are both dark brown.  Thanks for checking in, hope to see you back here again soon!

You make my heart happy!

My Favorite Things was the very first non-Stampin' Up! stamp company I bought from.  I just LOVED those Who's that Girl stamps!!!  My first set?  The Breast Cancer set.  When I met Kim at CHA a few years ago, I fell for the company all over again... she didn't know me from Adam and yet she was the sweetest thing in the world!  Ok, enough gushing, back to the good stuff... this is for this week's WSC Sketch on the MFT Forum on SCS, I just love this sentiment, but I couldn't open this set and not use the Pure Innocence image so I just had to "do" the inside...

Don't you just {heart} her?!?  I paper pieced her dress and if you look closely, there are teeny rhinestones (Taylors Tiny Twinkles) in the center of the flowers in her hair and pot.  I think I'm sending this one to my Gramma, after I look at it a little longer because it is certainly one of my favs lately.  Well, thanks for popping in.  Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
