I'm back and stampin' happy!

I am finally back in my stamp studio!  Yesterday Hubby left for Germany, so I got to spend allllllll afternoon tinkering in my studio and stamping!!  I got so much done :)  Well the last Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge was hostessed by the rockin' Lisa K and it was "Black Friday!"  Use anything that reminds you of shopping and add some black. How about some Makeup 4 the Weekend?!

This week it's my turn to Hostess the Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge over on Paper Makeup Stamps.  For this week's challenge I decided to pair up one of my newest obsessions (Digi Paper) along with one of my older obsessions (ribbon).  BUT there's a twist.... Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge #50, I challenge you to use Digital Paper AND use some ribbon, BUT you have to do something with the ribbon besides just a regular bow or knot.  I am actually cheating here a little... with hubby out of town and me leaving work a few hours late EVERY day this week I was a little short on time, so I am showing you a project I made a bit ago, but I promise I'll be making another for this challenge :)  When Katie came out with the Caffeine Trip set, I was sooo in love!  I think this is my most used PMS set that I have, lol.  Hmmm now there's a surprise, lol.  There are lots of places to get digital paper, but one of my favorites is My Time Made Easy, Kristin and Sara are 2 of my all time favorite digi paper chicks!  Well since I am cheating with this project I won't go in to tons of details about it, but you can go here and see more deets.

Happy Stamp time

 

I FINALLY got my stamp room cleaned up (yeah, it's been trashed sine the Dare to get Dirty challenge, lol).  Yesterday I hung out with hubby & the kiddo's; then I made a yummy dinner for my MIL and we all hung out some more... such a relaxing day!  This morning I got right on cleaning my room so I could play!  I'm telling you, there wasn't a single clear flat space in my whole room!!  I have decided that my "summer break" is over and it is time to get back into some serious stamping!  So today I took some of my favorite challenges (some that I have missed terribly this summer) and threw them together and voila!  Of course I goofed on the Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge, cause my focal image was supposed to be a circle...hopefully Christi S will forgive me :)  I absolutely LOVE this sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps!  Now, before this weekend goes away, I need to get more stamping done, so sorry for the quick post, but there's ink just screaming for me.  Thanks for popping by, hope to see you again soon :)

The Will to Day Dream meets Makeup 4 the Weekend...

  

Happy Friday!!  The new PMS card kit has hit the store!!  It's called 'The Will to Day Dream', and this little Will looks a lot like my Will!  Since I am filling in for the Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge on the PMS blog this week, I also needed to add a little Graph paper to my card (graph paper is not included in the kit).  You can get all the deets on the challenge here.  This card kit is GREAT for boy cards, visit this post on the PMS Blog to see a list of contents.  

Will has a little grass around him, but I kind of left him "floating" as if in a daydream and  airbrushed some B0000 around him.  This would be fun to give to a teacher!  All of the paper, rubber and embellies (except the graph paper and twine are from the kit.

Ahhhh vacation...

 

We left last night for a mini getaway, and I still hadn't made my card for this week's Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge and since I was filling in for Christi I had to do something. Taking ALL of my stamping supplies really was not feasible, so I just grabbed my PMS Card Kit and some word art, and voila!  I LOVE it, now I did have to grab a piece of white cardstock, but honestly everything I used to make this card was in the kit!  Talk about fabulous!!! I also grabbed some Nesties since it IS a window card, but alas I forgot my Big Shot, lol!  Never fear Hubby is here (once again!!).. here is our solution

 Apparently you don't need that silly Big Shot, just get some muscle and a hammer!  Don't think for a second that I'm getting rid of my big shot though, lol.  Btw, here is the inside of my card...

Makeup 4 the Weekend #27

 

Happy Friday!  Today's Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge is brought to you by Miss Danni, and she challenges us to use "at least 3 flowers".  I am totally in love with the Wisteria line of paper from Basic Gray!  That purple is just FABULOUS!  So how is it that I have absolutely NO ribbon in that color?  Holy snickerdoodles!  If you know of some yummy ribbon in those purples, let the enabler in you shine and leave me a linkie/comment, pretty please :)  The sketch is, of course one of Mercy's.    Well I hope that this inspires you at least a teensy bit to get inky!

So outside my comfort-zone...

 

Happy Saturday!  I got home last night from the office and though I wanted to stamp and play, there was also a part of that just wanted to climb in to bed!  One of my dearest stamping friends, Katie called to tell me a story... as it turns out someone in one of her classes was telling her about this blog she really liked, etc. and as they were talking, Katie realized she was talking about MY blog!  Wowzers... that totally made my day and was perfect timing!!  Thanks Katie for the "pick-me-up", and thanks to my "follower" for giving me the "boost" I needed.  Ok back to business...  This card is well outside of my comfort zone for a few reasons.  The colors for one, though I LOVE these bright, vivid colors I normally have a hard time with them.  I also almost never combine more than two challenges in one card and I actually used three this time!  Christi Snow is the Challenge Hostess this week at Paper Makeup.  I LOVE Christi's style... she uses fun colors and thinks so out-of-the-box.  Anyway this week she chose an apron over at Anthropologie (LOVE that store!!) as our inspiration piece, head on over to the Paper Makeup Blog to see Christi's Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge.  I am also doing the CCEE challenge, for my first time and last but not least, I am also using the Free 4 All challenge from Dawn on SCS.  Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Makeup 4 the Weekend and an Earth Day sale reminder

 

First a reminder that Paper Makeup Stamps is having a sale on some Earth Day themed stamps, but you'd better hurry because the sale ends Sunday (click here for a list of what's on sale)!  Now, HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!  Woo hoo!  I cannot wait for a weekend of stamping and hanging out with my boy-dorks!  Sheer bliss!!  Today's Makeup 4 the Weekend Challage is "Rainbows".  You must use red, orange, yellow, green, blue & purple (or something close to that).  I sometimes struggle with so many colors, so I kind of procrastinated starting this, but once I started I couldn't stop (clearly).  I think I went a little overboard with some of the embellies, but oh well!  I used one of the Blossom Nesties behind Sprout, and the more I look at it, I think I would have liked the Jumbo Scalloped Circle there better.  I sponged some "sky" around her using Tumbled Glass Distress ink.  I also colored my flower with my Y21 Copic... Makeup 4 the Weekend #22

 

Yesterday was my turn to Hostess the Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge over at Paper Makeup Stamps.  I chose "Use your favorite Fairy or winged image", but since life got away from me I wasn't able to make a new card in time for the post, so I used another card of mine with my fav fairy.  Now THIS is my official card for the challenge!  I LOVE Arianna!  50% cause she's a princess, 60% cause she has a froggy and another 50% just cause she's so stinking cute!  I LOVE her hair!!  The layout of this card was inspired by a card Susan Liles did quite awhile ago.  I really like Susan's style!!  Well I have lots of stamping to catch up on and pretty soon I'll have a house sans boy cooties :)  Thanks so much for popping by!  I'll be back with the deets.  Have a fabulous day!

Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge #21

 

Yes, I know I'm a few days late... but better late than never, right?? Lol  Last Friday's Makeup 4 the Weekend challenge was "be inspired by the SUN".  While ice cream is certainly yummy year round, I think Lily just screams "HERE COMES SUMMER!"  This card kinda reminds me of a 50-50 Ice Cream bar, or remember those Orange shakes from Naugles?  Yumm-O!  This past weekend we had some nice and toasty temps, but they didn't last... Makeup 4 the Weekend #20, No Layers

 

 Holy snickerdoodles!!!  What do you mean "NO LAYERS" is that even POSSIBLE????  Ok, so after momentary heart failure I knew I had to 'suck it up' and get creative.  This week's Makeup 4 the Weekend Challenge was (gulp) no layers, but as many embellies as you want. While I'm not wild about this card, I kinda like it.  As much as I kicked and screamed about this one, it was fun and I do like trying things outside my comfort zone.  Though I am sure that I will NEVER convert and become a "no layers" kinda gal, lol!  I hope you'll play along with the PMS DT & fans, and if you do, make sure you hop over to the PMS Blog link up your creation to our Mr. Linky.
