Kraftin Kimmie: Get Sentimental Challenge

This week's Kraftin Kimmie challnge hostess is SHERI, and her challenge is Let's Get SENTIMENTAL!!  I took this literally and grabbed one of my fave sentiment sets, Neverland Sentiments!  I've never worn out a stamp set, but it's a possibility with this one ;)  Sometimes I just LOVE CAS cards, I'm not normally very good at them, but I just LOVE the way this one turned out :)  I just grabbed some scraps from one of my fave paper pads and made the smaller panel, it's popped up on Sticky Fingers as is the sentiment which is also stamped on a piece of paper from the pad.  The sentiment frame is the Vintage Oval die (from Verve).

Kraftin Kimmie: Banners challenge

Hey Krafty peeps!  Here's my card for todays Kraftin Kimmie challenge... BANNERS!  Miss Sharon is our Hostess with da mostess this week!  Be sure to play along for your chance to win ya some rubbah!  I decided I wanted to play with some PINK stuff, and who looks better in pink than Tinkerbell :)  I just LOVE Tink and the Neverland Sentiments are one of my fave!!  

I grabbed the banner from the Silhouette store and cut it out twice, once in Espresso cs and once in my patterned paper and then off-set them a bit.  I also added some Cinnamon Stickles to the banner.

Of course I had to Bling-up Tink, so she has some Stardust on her wings and rhinestones on her hair tie and belt tie!

Kraftin Kimmie: Tic-Tac-Toe & JUGs Color Challenges!

This little beauty is pulling a "hat trick" today :)  This is Brigitte, and she's one of my fave Kraftin Kimmie stamps!  I don't know why us women are such suckers for these 'bubbly bathtub images', but the only thing that Miss Brigitte is missing is a glass of wine :)  And I just LOVE her hair!!  Since I've started playing around and experimenting with my coloring, I think I've become obsessed with hair, lol!  This week's Kraftin' Kimmie challenge is a Tic-Tac-Toe (see below)... I chose the middle column, "ribbons, gems & pink".  This is also for my JUGs challenge this week which is a color challenge (see below)... I took some 'creative liberties' with the colors ;).  And last but certainly NOT least, this is a birthday card for my dear stampy friend and fellow JUGHead, Lisa Kind (hope you had a fabulous day!!!)  The layout for this card is another fabulous sketch by Karen at Sweet Sunday Sketch!

Remember yesterday's card when I added the different sized dots to color the lamp base?  Well today I used that same idea around Brigitte and her tub, and again on the sentiment banner... Woo hoo! I'm a Krafty Girl!!!

 

Nope, that wasn't a typo... I am excited to announce that I am now a Kraftin Kimmie girl :)  I feel priveleged and honored to be working with such a talented team and with UBER-adorable images!  With that, here's my card for this week's challenge card... Kraftin Kimmie: Fancy Folds & Alice

Happy Saturday :)  I got this last Krop challenge card done just under the wire, lol!  Karen from Kraftin Kimmie challenged everyone to make a card or project with some Fancy Folds in it, lucky for me I had recently seen some of these in the Silhouette Online store!  Thanks that 99 cent cut file, I had all of the pieces for this card, easy peasy!!  I did add one extra layer of matting (cause that's just how I am, lol).  Alice "falling down the rabbit hole" was just perfect for this card!!  The sentiment is from Wonderland Sentiments!

Lately I've been wanting to "expand" my coloring skills, lucky for me I'm 'stampy friends' and on DT's with some of my fave coloring artists!!  Wendy Ramlakhan, is so incredibly sweet  and has some GREAT tutorials!  I've been playing around with her Coloring Skin and Coloring Hair tutes... clearly my Copics & I need to spend A LOT more time together, lol!  But I LOVED how she did her hair and the skin.  All in all I'm pretty happy with this card.  Thanks Wendy for the awesome inspiration and tutorials, and thanks Karen for a fun challenge :)!!

Kraftin Kimmie: Challenges card, Gotta LOVE Tink!

 

Yea!  I finally got some more Kraftin Kimmie cards done from last weeks Springtime Krop.  Hubby went out of town on business at the last minute this past week so I kinda spent the week horsing around with the kiddo's, thus my cards are just getting done now :)  Well I had planned on making 6 different cards for all 6 challenges, but since it's getting a wee bit late, lol this one will cheat a bit and serve for 2 challenges ;)  For my bling on this card, I used big rhinestones in the centers of the flowers, Sakura Stardust on her wings, Tourquoise Spica Glitter pen on her eye lids and pretty red rhinestones on her outfit AND Sakura Stardust on the spikes of the Circle mat :)  She's also fussy cut!  I was so excited to read the other day than Jen del Muro will be bringing back her fabulous sketch challenges once her new stamp company goes live, so I went on her blog and dug up one of her sketches!  This one is from February of last year, I believe.  My stampy friend Danni (I'm sure you all know her as well) also hosts a challenge blog, Flutterby Wednesday's and this week's challenge is... anything goes (as long as it has a butterfly or fairy on it)!

Just Us Girls #184 & Kraftin Kimmie!

Hey yall!  Happy Saturday :)  This week's JUGs challenge is to use the OMBRE Technique... dark to light! This week's fabby hostess is the Fabulous Vicki, and I have to admit this challenge stumped me for a bit, but I REALLY LOVE the way it turned out!  One of the challenges from last weekend's Springtime Krafty Krop was an inspiration photo with blues and blue/greens so I grabbed an old Couture Cardstock pack I had and chose 3 perfect colors!!  I intended on grabbing a ribbon that was a bit darker still, so 4 shades total.  I have 2 heart dies from Verve, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!  The sizes were just perfection!!  The sentiment is from Kraftin Kimmie's Neverland Sentiments.

Kraftin Kimmie: Springtime Krafty Krop Challenge #2

Hey yall!  I spent part of my Saturday, while hubby was working, with the Kraftin Kimmie gals and fans at their very first Springtime Krafty Krop, Kim will do ANYthing to get Spring here!  Some of the Krafty girls gave challenges and this one is for Sheri's challenge, BIRTHDAYS!  My Gramma's birthday is this week so I this card is for her!  My Mom & my Gramma have inspired me to be crafty for as long as I can remember.  Through high school & my 20's I remember them making the most amazing creations (sewing was their thing), my Gramma also quilts and is always just a phone call away when I get stuck :)  Lavendar, from Kraftin Kimmie, was perfect for this, she is retired, but she's near and dear to my heart!  Of course I had to add a little stitching to this, so some gray thread holds the tag to the image :)

Kraftin Kimmie Outdoor challenge & SSSC181

This is kind of a "stamping for the fun of it", BUT my stampy friend Tracy Valure did a tutorial on Copic Clouds (this week's TSG Wednesday Trend) and I was DIEING to play!!  AND this week Kraftin Kimmie's challenge is The Great OUTDOORS, so perfect when the "planets align" like that!  So I got stampy!  Now Tracy is one of those peeps whose coloring intimidates me some, so I wasn't sure I'd be able to pull it off.  Well, I certainly need a little practice, BUT her tutorial was fabulous and they didn't turn out half bad ;)  I am telling you these are FUN and easier than you'd think!

Stampin' for the fun of it & JUGS182!

Today is a "play day" for me, so I'm tinkering in the stamp room!  Last weekend's challenge from Kraftin Kimmie was "What's Your Fave?", so I just HAD to dig out Lillith!  I know she's retired and I don't remember the name of the "grouping" she was part of (she fits in with Charlotte, Drucilla, etc.), but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!  I LOVE the style and the Sassy-ness of them!!  Honestly, the reason she scores a couple of extra points is cause of the frog ;).  This is also my card for this week's Just Us Girls Wild Card Challenge.  OUr Hostess with the Mostess is Miss Maria and she's challenging us to use the Puzzle Piece Resist Technique (this is a FAB tutorial by Beate)!  I used Distressed Diamonds (from My Favorite Things) for my background.  After embossing I used the Jotted Heart Die (from Verve Stamps) to cut out my "puzzle piece".  The main panel is inked up with Memento Pistachio ink, the heart is inked with Memento Hot Cocoa.  Instead of putting the heart back where it came from, I decided to move it over some and add some pretty pink paper behind the open heart.  I also used the Arrow die (from Verve Stamps) to add a little more brown.  Well that's all I've got for now, thanks for popping by and I hope to see you again soon!  Be sure to head over to the JUGs blog for all of the deets on this challenge and to link up your own creation!  Don't forget to say "hey" to my fellow JUGHeads :)
