Wedding favors… Made Easy!

IMG_8379

We recently got some fabulous news that someone very dear to us is getting married, so naturally I've got "wedding on the brain" (NO it's not the DD… bite your tongue!).  Lauren being the fabulously brilliant person that she is foresaw all of this and of course this months' My Time Made Easy release is just PERFECT!!!  For the top of the box, the sentiment is from the new Bold Botanicals stamp set.  For the flower (I followed the same steps that Kristin used on her blog post here) I used MTME's Fanciful Flowers cut file, and chose the 6 petal flower sizing it to 2". I have found that I MUCH prefer using my Cricut and .svg files than using a punch.  I love being able to size it to whatever I want!!   I followed Tim Holtz' tutorial to get the look I have here.  Kristin sponged the color on to her flower, but I have come to terms with my complete inability to sponge and chose to airbrush instead.  I airbrushed the flowers after cutting them out using R30, R32 and R24 Copics (in that order).  Once colored, I sprayed them all with some Baby's Breath Shimmer Spritz. and used my embossing gun to dry it.  Once my flower was assembled I "spritzed" a little more R32 and R24, then a little more Shimmer Spritz to dampen the flower so I could sprinkle some Lily White Glitter on it.  That beautiful paper on the top and inside of the box were designed by Kristin and are part of the Serenity pack.

I was thinking that this adorable little Creative Card Candy box would be perfect sitting at everyone's place as a little 'thank you' for coming (here is the inside).  I put some little tea lights in there (that smell fabulous!), but chocolates or those colored almonds would fit just as nicely.

And the card could be used for 'Thank You notes' afterwards, of course with a coordinating envelope!  The card and envelope are from the Creative Card & Envelope 1 Cut File.  I enlarged the card and envelope cut files to 140% to get the size I wanted.  For the front of the card I used the Framed Elegance stamp set along with the Framed Elegance cut file.  I cut the center of the Fame out and popped it up, the sentiment is stamped on an oval and lies flat on the card.  TO give my frame a little texture without taking away from the sentiment piece or the paper, I cut it out of pink cs and embossed with clear ep.  I REALLY love the look of this little set!  Want some more inspiration from this month's MTME release?  Check out what Lauren and Debbie have to share.  Thanks for popping by, hope to see you tomorrow for the MTME Group Post.

  2. Tangii!!!!!!!!!!! Holy camoly! I LOVE this set! What a fantastic idea to use the smaller box as a wedding favor (who wouldn’t LOVE to receive one of these?) and to add scented tealights was pure genius and fiscally do-able! GREAT idea! So sad I didn’t think of it first :] LOL I love how you coordinated your colors to match the papers and your flower is over the top! BEAUTIFUL work on that bloom…I tell ya! Thanks for the plug :] Did you use a wire curler to roll your petals also? It worked like a charm!
