Another Paper Garden Birthday Challenge...

 

March marks the 2nd birthday for Paper Garden Projects and to celebrate Cathy has some great challenges and awesome prizes.  If you haven't yet done last week's birthday card challenge you still have until midnight tonight (Friday) to participate... the prize is TWO Mo Manning stamps!!  Today's challenge is a sketch challenge, and the prize is this Dressy Miss Anya set!  

 

For my card I used the Iris from the Year of Flowers #2 set.  I love Iris', their shape is fun, but I just love them in purple and yellow!  By the way Basic Gray paper pads, Prism cardstock, copics and more are ALL currently on sale at Paper Garden!

The White Queen...

 

I don't know about you, but I am in LOVE with the new Alice In Wonderland stuff... all of it!  I found this cute digi image at Sassy Studio Designs.  While I really like the White Queen, I am in love with a few of the other images!!  This is for a VERY late birthday gift for a friend (of course the gift is an Alice in Wonderland tshirt from Hot Topic, lol!).  Tomorrow I'll show you how I packaged her gift... Probably one of my absolute favorite gift packages I've made!  Make sure you click on the picture to see the detail of her face (she has a mole, perfect!) and that's a rhinestone on her neck.  For a basically "white" image I used ALOT of Copics!! lol

Spring means butterflies...

Today was such a gorgeous day!  I am ready to see some "flutterby's"... bring on Spring!! 

 

This week Mercy had an awesome sketch (I always love her sketches), so I just had to take a break from "re-organizing" my stamp room and ink up some rubber.  I stamped the butterfly and colored it in, then I found some paper and started putting the card together.  Somewhere along the line, my butterfly went in one direction and the rest of the card went in another, hahaha.  So I re-did the butterfly.  I stamped it in some Cocoa ink (Memento) and then used some yellow/orange Copics.  I didn't really care if the Cocoa "bled" or smeared some when I colored because I kind of wanted to pull a little of the brown into the yellows.  I really like the look.  Both the butterfly and the sentiment are from Gina K's set, Take Flight.  I was trying to figure out what color for the base of this card... white was too "white" and vanilla was too "yellow".  While I was flipping through my Prism swatchbook I stumbled across 3 colors that I NEVER think about Butter Cream, Vanilla Cream and Sugar Cream. I chose Sugar Cream here.  I LOVE these colors and can't believe I haven't used them before!  I also love the texture of the Prism... I can leave some card stock showing without it looking "flat" to me.  The "pretty papers" here are from the Origins pack by Basic Gray.  I just love this paper pack!  I got some of the 12x12 papers for a project I am working on, fell in love with them, got a small pack and then got some more of them from a friend! lol.  By the way, Cathy at Paper Garden has both the paper pack and Prism cs singles on sale right now, pop on over there and tell her I said "hey".

Yeah, it's FINALLY here!  Time for the Paper Makeup Stamps March release (aka my very favoritest release ever, lol).  I'm sure you've met her already, but this is Caliope and this time she is ready for Spring and sporting a flower!  I paper pieced Caliope, used Build-a-brads and to make the sentiment show up a little better I stamped it on Vellum and then adhered it to the base.  I punched a center for my Prima flower to match the brads.  A very springy card, for such a rainy day in So Cal! lol.

 My office manager's birthday was yesterday, and I knew right away what I was going to make her.  That MFT image is soooo her!  She LOVES shopping and she has a cute little dog, and she LOVES purses!

 

I absolutely LOVE this purse!  I filled it with Hershey's Kisses and the gift card we got her from the office.  The incredibly talented Mel (Mel Stampz) is the brain behind this purse, you can see her samples and get the template here.  I'll be back in a bit with the list of goodies I used.  Have a great weekend, hope to see you again soon!

 

Paper Garden Projects 4th Friday Challenge... Fairwell to Winter!

VERY late Blogger's Challenge & Taylors Dragonfly card drive

 

 
 Well this is a very late Blogger's Challenge, but I think that I am finally getting close to getting caught up after being sick.  Last week's challenge was a sketch (thanks Lisa!!).  As soon as I saw the sketch I knew it'd be great to use with this Dragonfly for the Taylored Expressions Dragonfly card drive.  You can read about the purpose for the stamp set and the card drive on Taylor's blog.  This is such a gorgeous set!!  I'll have to pop back in a little later to add the ingredients cause it is WAY past my bedtime.  Thanks for popping in, hope to see you again soon!  Don't forget to check out the card drive.

This card is pulling "double duty" today.  One of the things the PMS DT is doing this month to celebrate PMS's first birthday is we are "remakeing" our first PMS card.   

 

Since I am so far behind from being sick, I chose to keep the same image, papers and color scheme and I changed up the layout (thus the double duty).  My remake uses Miss Gabby's awesome sketch for this week's M4TW17 Challenge.  Here is my original card... the image is Jaina, she was my first Fairy and is still one of my favs. Make sure you pop on over to the PMS Blog and add your creation to Mr. Linky for this great sketch challenge... katie is pulling one random winner for a treat!

I'm baaa-ack...

 

Whew!  Finally!!  I am finally up and amongst the living again and stamping like a mad-woman! lol  I have LOTS of catching up to do still, but I really wanted to stamp something just to stamp.  I got this set from Taylor at CHA and have been dieing to ink it up ever since.  I fell in love with this set the second she released it.  Next I checked out some of my favorite challenges to get the Mojo flowin', so today I'm using the JUGS21 challenge  and the Crazy 4 Challenges sketch. 

 

 To get the pattern on the Butterfly, I inked up my stamp and then pressed it against a Piercing grid I have before stamping my paper... I think it gave it just the right "pop".  Then I cut him out and attached him just down the middle so I could fold up his wings.  I don't think you can see it too well, but I went over the pom-pom type flowers with a Clear Spica glitter pen.  Wowzers!  It feels great to be stamping again!  Thanks for popping in, don't forget to say "hi"!  Ok, gotta go get inky some more ;)  See ya soon!
